"The Gardens of Neptune"

1.54"

I'm giddily pleased with this marble because it shows off two new events that I've been working on- the triple-bowl form and the ripper texture.

The triple bowl has a wonderful dynamic quality to it, as if you can see energy pooling and dripping down to the next bowl. It also gives multilevel shadow effects as the imprint of the rings cascades through the layers.

The "ripper" texture is the spiky outer ring on the minor side of the marble, a chaotic spiked feel to offset and complement all of the symmetries. I could see this form in my mind long before I was able to manifest it...very challenging and they hold much promise for future works. And no, it's not simple raking!

And my fascination for UV reactives rolls on.....
